Hi Judy, Thanks for your feedback and I'm sorry to hear you were not able to see wild dogs on your trip. Wildlife is always hard to predict and impossible to guarantee. I've reviewed all the correspondence you had with Jeffi going back to early 2024 when you started the planning process for this lovely trip and I can see a lot of care was taken in the planning process to work through different itinerary options while also even sharing recent sightings reports of some of the camps suggested. Wild dogs are seasonal breeders with whelping occurring from April through to September so while this year might have been a little later in the areas you visited it's something not possible to guarantee especially when planning far in advance. Taking into account your wish for wilderness, wildlife and in particular cats and wild dogs, rustic camps and price point you landed on a truly wonderful Zambia itinerary in late June taking advantage of shoulder season prices while striking a balance between areas that offer iconic game viewing and some more wild and off the beaten path locations. Both the Lower Zambezi and South Luangwa are iconic national parks famed for their big cat sightings and frequent wild dog sightings so it is unfortunate you were unlucky in not seeing any wild dogs on your trip. Both Flatdogs Camp and Chula Island Camp regularly feature photo's of wild dogs along with leopards and lions so you were definitely in the right places to potentially see these animals. Luambe Camp and Mwaleshi Camp both offer amazing off the beaten path experiences in true wilderness areas and yes it's true that in these locations it can be more about being immersed in nature far away from the crowds than high density wildlife viewing so you feedback on this is appreciated and duly noted. Next time we will do better in pointing this out. Overall I'm happy to read that you mostly enjoyed each of the camps that you stay in and that they took good care of you. We love the team at Chula Island Camp and it's clear this was a highlight for you. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We really appreciate it. Our intention is to always listen to each guests wish lists and then carefully craft an itinerary that matches those ideas and preferences both before travelling and while on the ground in Africa so I am sorry that you felt we were a bit lacking in this instance.
