We've sincerely apologized to you of this unique and unforeseen situation as this is something we have never seen before and found this situation to be extremely odd and an isolated incident. After investigating this matter, the Owner Susan Grounds and the Guest both were attempting to make an online reservation for this property (at the same time AND for the same dates). The Guest was successful in reserving the dates 1st (and was sent her check-in procedures by us "Property Manager"), yet the Owner assumed she had booked and blocked out the same dates especially after seeing her calendar was blocked.... but she wrongly assumed. The blocked out and booked dates the Owner was viewing was not hers, but instead was the Guest's. The Owner honestly thought she had blocked out her dates, and did not mean to inconvenience Guest. Owner was mortified after finding out what truly happened. Owner offered to pay for Guest to stay at another property at the time, but Airbnb took care of Guest and moved Guest to a different property. We most definitely can understand Guest's reaction as we too were scratching our heads to understand how this could have possibly happened. This case and situation was presented to Airbnb due to its uniqueness and Airbnb did not penalize us "Host" for the cancellation. We hope you understand this was an isolated incident and will book with us again. Best wishes!
