Hi Sandra, thank you for taking the time to review our service, we are glad that you found the crews to be helpful and enjoyed the lunches provided. With regard to the groups, our guides are certified to guide a maximum of 12 divers, having taken a look at the days on which you dived, I can see that you were diving in a group of about 8 and that there were a couple of Open Water divers with only a few dives, unfortunately, we do not always have the resources to put a guide on the boat for just 2 or 3 people so we do have to have groups of mixed abilities. As most of our dive sites are relatively straight forward, some of our more experienced guests or visiting instructors opt to go unguided so that they may take their time, away from the main group, providing the guide on the has had an opportunity to assess the ability of the divers they are normally more than happy to agree to this. It is fantastic news that the guides managed to find the dugong for you, when we take groups to Mubarek (the home of Dyson the Dugong), they tend to build their day around trying to find him. Dyson can be a little elusive at times so they do their best to structure the day for the best outcome, this usually includes 2 reef dives in the morning and a shorter sea grass dive in the afternoon, this is because Dyson is rarely seen in the bay in the morning, and if does arrive he can be scared off by other boats arriving. Our experienced guides know that the best chance of seeing him is in the afternoon when he comes in for a light supper! As you managed to catch sight of him, it seems that their plan was successful on this day (this is not always guaranteed). If they had spent any of the other dives on the sea grass it is likely that you would have seen a lot of grass that day. I hope this goes someway to explaining the reason that the guides planned the dives this way. We look forward to seeing you again soon at our Marsa Dive Centre.
