Thanks. I'm in high desert. Daytime temp is now 70-80's but nights in the 35-40's. Is it ok to place potatoes in wall planter now?? or should I wait til it is warmer overnight?

It is probably OK, but maybe not yet urgent. So, if your seed potatoes haven't actually sprouted, I'd hold back a couple of weeks; it's really best if the tubers have broken dormancy and the "eyes" have actually begun to grow before you plant. Caleb

Hi Randal, Thanks for your order. Many modern Potato varieties are very smooth and the eyes are difficult to see, but the eyes are definitely there! We go to great lengths to keep our Seed Tubers as dormant as possible so that when you plant them your plants will have the greatest vigor and highest yields. In order to encourage the sprouts to emerge from the eyes, simply warm up for a few days at 70-75oF. Warming Seed Tubers will break them out of dormancy will and you will see sprouts appear in no time. Once you seed sprouts appear the Seed Tubers are ready to plant anytime. Happy gardening! JIm
