Thank you for your comments on the alkaline jug, we value all feedback from our customers.

The jug filters should be replaced every 8 weeks. The ph may well still be at 8 after a year but the filter has several elements, only one of which is raising the ph of the water. The filter also removes chlorine and other impurities from the water, the ability of the filter to do this decreases over time and after 8 weeks will not be as effective. The filter contains anti-bacterial media which again loses its effectiveness over time. After 8 weeks of use there is a chance of bacteria building up in the filter. The filter has been developed so it is still performing well at time of expiry and not just when it is new.

The jug should not be filled so full that the reservoir does not empty, this will solve the problem of unfiltered water going in your glass.
