Dear Vincent,
We are sorry to hear you experienced this with Customs at the airport. Unfortunately, when travelling there are a number of matters which are beyond the control of TripADeal and being a part of law enforcement agency, Custom Officer's and local laws are beyond our control.
It is for this reason, we recommend in our Terms and Conditions, all customers to be aware of the safety, local conditions, and issues that may exist/arise at your travel destination. TripADeal Traveller's are responsible for compiling with all local laws, regulations and customs in all countries and locations to which our customers travel to and from. It's important to note, in some cases, these can be very different to those at home.
It is the responsibility of the individual traveller to research and declare all relevant items when they are returning to Australia and to comply with customs laws. It is important to understand all these regulations as unfortunately, any items which are confiscated will not be compensated by TripADeal and its unlikely a comprehensive insurance policy would cover any such claims made regarding government confiscation as well.
We would be more than happy to explain this to you further should you wish, please do not hesitate to let us know. Again, we are very sorry to hear your luggage was not released from Customs however, genuinely hope you were able to still enjoy the TripADeal holiday to China.
Kind regards,
TripADeal Team
