I am not asking itravel2000 to guarantee perfect weather, perfect water clarity, or a completely seaweed-free beach. I understand that sargassum is a natural phenomenon. The issue is disclosure. Your own response confirms that sargassum can significantly impact the beach experience and that it affects many destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean. That is exactly why this risk should have been clearly disclosed before purchase when selling a beachfront all-inclusive vacation package. We did not choose this trip mainly for a hotel room, buffet, or airport transfer. We chose a beachfront resort because the beach and ocean were the central reason for the vacation. If a known seasonal/environmental issue can materially affect that main value, then a customer should be clearly warned before booking, not after the vacation is ruined. During our 14-day trip, the beach and nearshore ocean were materially affected on multiple days by substantial sargassum, poor shoreline/water conditions, and strong odour. We documented this with dated photos and videos. This was not a minor inconvenience for us — it significantly reduced the value of the beachfront vacation we purchased. The answer that conditions “cannot be predicted” is not enough. I am not saying itravel2000 had to predict the exact volume of sargassum on each day. I am saying the risk was known, material to a beach-focused vacation, and not clearly disclosed before purchase. Our complaint and appeal were denied, and no meaningful remedy was offered. That is why I remain dissatisfied with both the disclosure and the complaint handling. My recommendation remains the same: if the beach and ocean are important to your trip, ask specific written questions before booking and do not assume that a beachfront package means the beach/ocean experience will be usable or properly disclosed.
