As soon as IVA is accepted your creditors are no longer able to apply interest and charges and they are also not supposed to contact you directly as they, like you, are bound by the terms set out in your IVA. We will get in touch with those that are still contacting you and remind them of their obligation to stop doing so. Under the terms of an IVA (not just from Freeman Jones, but any provider) the Insolvency Practitioner will collect their initial fee , called the “nominee fee”, from the first few payment you make. In most cases the first distributions to creditors will happen a few months after this has been collected. This is very standard industry practice and the creditors will be used to this. I’ve asked your relationship manager to give you a call both to find out which creditors are still in touch and to run through how the distribution process works. I hope this helps.
