Coasting to a disappointment

Trying to book online with the code from a letter promising a price plus a bottle of wine, no rooms available, phone head office, YES, but no wine and more money.

I am sorry to learn of your disappointment with your booking experience. All of our campaign codes have booking conditions and I am sorry that your booking did not qualify for a free bottle of wine or a discount. If you have the campaign code you were trying to apply I could look into this further for you?

have been twice to this hotel lover the past mths for wkend stays although the décor is a little dated and tired the staff are very good also the hotel is in a wonderful position very easy booking...

I think you are missing the point.I am trying to be helpful and constructive.This was our fourth Shearings break in the last few months.Third this year.We have a rough idea what to expect.One was C & C two (Melrose and Tarbert are Bay.In both of the latter the food was better ,and rooms too.At Keswick there was no fresh fruit at breakfast and they ran out of marmalade,and Sausages.We have stayed at this hotel many times,well into double figures ,including a Xmas break which was very good,and even more when it was privately owned.We thought we knew what to expect hence our disappointment.With regard to the entertainment,there has been some on a Saturday night in the past and i know the forty plus people who arrived for one night on the National coach would have welcomed something on a cold wet winter night.
