It was a pleasure meeting you in Jaipur, one of the nicest perks of our job, to be able to meet people from all over the world.We do understand you had a couple of concerns which have been discussed over an e-mail and phone call, for the benefit of a wider audience we do want to share our view and some additional information.The Regular Bad - booking hotels on our listWe only have an arbitrary list of hotels/hostels that we know first hand, that we have stayed at (in most cases) or inspected and approve of. Having said that we can book virtually any hotel/hostel that we find (beyond one that has been personally vouched for) or our clients find and want us to book. In your trip, I think it was a mis-understanding as Viveka did suggest that we book hostels for you (considering you are young), but you preferred staying in private rooms at a hotel. Hence, she suggested hotels over hostels.When you did inform us during your trip that you would prefer to change to a hostel, we did the same in Jaipur (you'd appreciate the fact that this was very last minute and we managed to do so w/o you incurring any cancellation fees).The actual badWe really feel short-changed for this comment. If we may elaborate, given for your religious beliefs on certain days we had to keep you within walking distances of a Chabbad House.We went beyond our usual level of thoroughness and found you places to stay within walking distances of a Chabbad House on three instances in your trip in Mumbai, Varanasi and Dharamshala (you were 1.5 Kms away, albeit uphill it might have been a longer walk).We were not given addresses to the Chabbad House in each destination, we are not practicing **** which makes it hard for us to understand which Chabbad House we need to pick. It should also be mentioned, we always share links to hotels we are booking for you/ have booked for you. Our clients always have the address to cross-check.In Dharamshala, the accommodation that we picked was only a 1.5 Kms walk from a Chabbad House, so we feel we did do our job to suit your travel needs. And as mentioned our final bone of contention was you did not inform us before changing hotels and informed us about this change only after completing your stay in Dharamshala.If you had informed us before changing hotels we would have got you a refund, like we did in Jaipur. As a goodwill gesture we still refunded one night's stay at the last hotel. I really hope this clarifies. Regards,Sameer.
