Prefer trying things as on
I drove to a shop to try on dresses in the end, as this didn't suit me, even though it was a lovely dress. Shop staff were brilliant.

The staff was very kind and helpful. I ordered one size too large and re-ordered a smaller size of the same dress which was a perfect fit.
