The customer gave us an incorrect delivery address and UPS could not deliver it. In this case, a sequence of very rare events resulted in the parcel being returned to us: the customer gave us an incorrect address, they did not check the email acknowledgment which clearly had the wrong address, they did not notice that the delivery was late (we could have sorted it), they also say that UPS did not email them. We do not make a profit on postage, acids have to go by a special chemical service with UPS, they cannot be sent by Royal Mail. In addition to the original postage, UPS charge again for a returned parcel, then we would have to pay a third time to resend it. We pass just one of these charges onto the customer. But we only do this if the error is clearly with the customer, if it is ourselves or UPS that is at fault (which can happen!) there is no charge.
