Sorry for the problems you've experienced here, but please let me try to explain and defend ourselves. First of all, I've just checked and at the time you ordered it the item you bought was marked on the site as something we would need to order in for you. We try to communicate this very carefully throughout the whole order: on the item page, in the shopping cart, in the checkout, and in the confirmation emails. We are always upfront and transparent about any item that we don't have physically in-stock and that we need to get in from one of our suppliers. When supplier delays do occur, as they inevitably do sometimes, we then try to stay in touch throughout the whole order until it is dispatched. Our records show that we sent you five emails in total regarding your order: a confirmation email on the 28th December when you placed the order, a status update email on the 29th December when we started processing it, a further status update on 8th January apologising for the delay, another status update when the item finally arrived on the 13th January, and a final dispatch notice on the 14th January. As for Special Delivery...we don't offer that, and never have. We do offer Recorded Delivery, and that's the option you chose. But at no point does this promise a next-day service - it is simply an insurance option, and is clearly communicated as such. Nowhere on our site will you find us offering a guaranteed next-day delivery service. We would love to be able to, but with so many items needing to be ordered in first it's just not an option we feel comfortable even mentioning on the site. So, apologies once again for the delays in getting this item to you. But please be assured that we really did try to keep you in the loop on this one from beginning to end!
