Our most sincere apologies if our attempts to explain this mis-interpretation came across in any way 'rude'. The flight booked was 'direct' as advertised, but not 'non-stop' where the prevailing usage of the term 'direct' means that there may be an interim stop between departure and destination, but it is the same aircraft that continues onwards to its eventual destination, the phrase: 'non-stop' means that there is no intermediate stop en-route. This mistaken interpretation of the wording was in this case compounded by the delays experienced on both outbound and inbound flights for which we offer apologies from the airline.

Here is the same day reply Andy sent to this passenger: "I have just looked into your booking and unfortunately seat allocations cannot be made to your booking until check in. With regards to online check-in we are still awaiting confirmation as the whether this facility will be available from London Heathrow. We should be made aware of this within the next 2 months. If you have any additional questions please let me know." Unfortunately we have no record of receiving another e mail on this topic and had believed that the request for help with this matter had been answered fully.
