Your Laurels will knit together to create a beautiful dense evergreen hedge. During the spring they produce tiny white flowers that are popular with butterflies and bees and during winter they produce small red berries that hungry birds love. The Spindle (Euonymus europaeus) is known for its stunning colours in autumn, in which the bright pink capsules open-up to reveal bold-coloured orange fruits, and the leaves turn from a deep green to a glowing red and the fruits are often retained well into the winter months, even after the leaves have dropped. It has dense foliage and the foliage is also aromatic and when crushed gives off a sweet fragrance. Privet is a semi-evergreen, which means the plants may lose some or all their leaves during a very chilly winter. In May and June its pink and white flowers will attract lots of butterflies and bees, and then in autumn hungry birds will feed on the orange/red berries. Hi Richard, Thank you for your review. I am so sorry, it seems your 2 x boxes of plants were separated at your local depo and ended up on different delivery vehicles and were delivered 4 hours apart. I do apologise for the inconvenience this caused you. It is lovely to hear how pleased you are with your Portuguese Laurels and I hope they are in the ground and are enjoying their new surroundings. Portuguese Laurel is a beautiful evergreen plant that has glossy green leaves all year round. The small delicate flowers that bloom in the summer are extremely popular with butterflies and bees. The leaves on all your Beech will have turned brown in autumn when the plants became dormant for the winter. The plants will hold onto these leaves and then in spring new leaves will push through.
