A full-bodied organic Syrah and Grenache blend from the slopes of the Ardèche. Voluptuous and velvety, this Côtes du Rhône Villages wine has fleshy forest fruit aromas and flavours, underscored by savoury smoky notes and supple tannins. Located in the limestone- and iron-rich soils of the Ardèche (between the Rhône valley and Provence), Saint-Andéol is one of the villages recently promoted to the highest quality level of Côtes-du-Rhône; named 'Villages' status in 2017. Benefiting from a Mediterranean climate alongside soils full of heat-retaining pudding stones (the same as those found in Châteauneuf-du-Pape), the steep hillsides around Bourg-Saint-Andéol help capture the sunshine to ripen the fruit that is also cooled by the Mistral winds.Serve with Mediterranean pasta dishes, beef with pistou or a warming Moroccan tagine.
