Gevrey-Chambertin: Domaine Henri Richard 'Aux Corvées' 2022

Travelling south from Dijon, the 400 hectares of Gevrey-Chambertin mark the start of the great vineyards of Burgundy's Côte de Nuits. This wine is a wonderful, traditional Pinot Noir from Domaine Henri Richard, a fourth generation, family-run estate, and comes from the Aux Corvées climat, just behind the family home. We've enjoyed it immensely on its youthful fruit but it should show even better with bottle-age. Certified biodynamic. Translucent, ruby robe. Lovely pure red berry bouquet with subtle tarry notes. This wine has a core of ripe strawberry fruit on the palate a voluptuous, velvety texture & supple tannins offset by a fine acidity.
