Low alcohol, low-calorie wine? Absolutely. We had tasted oodles of de-alcoholised wines and never been convinced that they adequately replicated the \'mouth feel\' of the real thing. Kolonne Null\'s de-alcoholised Riesling has an ABV of less than 0.5%. With its clear structure, crisp acidity and tense minerality, is a revelation and fooled most of our tasting panel, who assumed more alcohol was present. With an average 19 kcalories per 100ml, it has less alcohol than a ripe banana or that present in cloudy fruit juice. Plus, it’s gluten-free and vegan-friendly to boot. A partnership between Berlin-based low alcohol wine supplier Kolonne Null and premium wine producer Weingut Hohmann from the Nähe region. The vision of Kolonne Null is to preserve flavour and texture in wine whilst removing the alcohol. This slightly off-dry Riesling is the fabulous result. Crisp orchard fruit aromas support lime zesty acidity, smooth texture and flinty minerality. Germany: Kolonne Null Riesling 2023. Kolonne Null. Germany Wine > Rheinhessen, Pfalz and Baden Wine.
