A red wine from parcels of vines dotted around Domaine de Montcalmès' differing soils – this cuvée of pure Grenache features fruit from limestone-clay, lacustrine limestone (mineral and moisture rich) and rocky pudding stone (galets roulés) soils. Each lend different elements to the fruit which when blended, add depth and complexity to this rich Languedoc rouge. Domaine de Montcalmès' organic Grenache is sourced from a variety of parcels around the communes of Aniane and Puéchabon. A full-bodied red wine, intense dark berry fruit aromas dominate with ripe, juicy plum and cherry on the palate. The exuberance of the fruit is kept in check by a lovely mineral edge which brings freshness and restraint. Enjoy with mushroom-rich braised stews, well-hung beef or duck 'à l'orange'.
