This Floc de Gascogne from the Dèche family at Château de Millet hails from red grape juice - equal parts of Merlot and Cabernet Franc - blended with young Bas Armagnac. Described as an 'apéritif artisanal', it has a deep brick pink colour, a palate of sweet red fruit with a subtle bouquet of flower scents.(75cl bottle). This Floc de Gascogne from Château de Millet is a judicious blend of unaged Bas Armagnac and red grape juice, not unlike a Pineau de Charentes. Known as a 'mistelle' or 'Vin de Liqueur', Floc de Gascogne is principally deployed as a pre-prandial apéritif and foie gras accompaniment, but can also be used in cocktails. Serve well chilled. While Floc can be made from white grape juice as well as red, both must be aged for at least 9 months before release. Depending on the desired result, some wines are aged in tank to preserve the fruit while others are aged in wood. Floc de Gascogne - Château de Millet. La Famille Dèche. Wine > Wine. Wine
