Carsten Migliarina makes small batches of this boutique wine from 2 plots in the Helderberg ward of Stellenbosch. This Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon blend has a blueberry tint in the glass with focused cassis aromas, cherry and currant flavours and a little caramelised spice and cedar on the finish. Enjoy with rare pan-roasted veal with a rich bramble and red wine sauce, game or aubergine and Roscoff onion steak. This South African blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon from former sommelier Carsten Migliarina echoes both the cool-climate Syrah of the Northern Rhône with the succulence of brightly-fruited Cabernet Sauvignon. Planted on the decomposed granite soils of the Helderberg ward, its schistous soils bring out freshness and perfume in the wine blend. Just 1430 bottles were produced.
