Taken from the Latin Roman Catholic liturgy In Nomine Patris (In the name of the Father), this Grenache Noir-based Gigondas is made from old-vine fruit sourced from a small plot. Intense ripe berry and plum fruit predominate with lashings of pepper and cloves. It has amazing length and depth of flavour and will age for a decade at least. Jean-Pierre Meffre and son-in-law Jean-Yves Carré de Lusançay make this single-vineyard old-vine Gigondas from a tiny 2-hectare site with a limestone-clay base covered in galets roulés (pudding stones). Predominantly Grenache Noir from low-yielding vines with an average age of 100 years old, it is gloriously rich and concentrated. Only a small amount is made in the best vintages and it has the stuffing to last a decade, possibly two or more. Gigondas: Domaine Saint Gayan 'In Nomine Patris' 2019. Domaine Saint Gayan (Jean-Pierre Meffre). Rhône Wine > Gigondas Wine. Red Wine
