The iconic status of the Vaillé family's Languedoc estate has made Domaine de la Grange des Pères a cult wine – largely due to the meticulous, precise efforts of the late Laurent Vaillé and the small amount of wine they produce. This Cabernet Sauvignon-based red uses Syrah and Mourvèdre with a dash of Counoise to enhance the intensely dark briary fruit. Described by wine critic Robert Parker as 'outstanding', the stellar reputation of Domaine de la Grange des Pères has helped the local area gain recognition for quality winemaking. Sourcing vine cuttings from his training at Domaine de Trévallon and Gérard Chave, the Grange des Pères vines are farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles on marne-rich limestone slopes around the commune of Aniane in the heights of the Languedoc's Terrasses du Larzac (which gained Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée status in 2016). This wine's base of Cabernet Sauvignon means that it does not fit the requirements of the various Languedoc appellations so is labelled as a simple IGP Vin de Pays. IGP Pays d’Hérault: Domaine de la Grange des Pères Rouge 2018. Domaine de La Grange des Pères. Languedoc Wine > Terrasses du Larzac Wine. Red Wine
