The Moulin de Gassac wines from Mas de Daumas Gassac make characterful varietal bottlings at accessible prices. Their Syrah bottling comes from vineyards around the town of Villeveyrac that are classified as IGP Pays d\'Oc. Its intense violet hue belies intense blueberry and berry fruit aromas leading to fine tannins, juicy fruit and a touch of spice on the palate. . Planted on bauxite-rich cretaceous chalk soils around Villeveyrac, south-west of Montpellier. Ideal with grilled meats or more exotic dishes such as pâté de campagne, blanquette de veau (veal stew) or faisan en cocotte (pot-roasted pheasant). IGP Pays d\'Oc: Moulin de Gassac Syrah 2022. The Gassac Syrah is a very good varietal wine . Clearly well made with obvious care and attention. Showcases what can be achieved outside of the Rhône Valley with the Syrah grape.
