Infamous for cylists across the globe as one of the hardest, steepest stages of the Tour de France, Mont Ventoux (1,909m) is visible from miles around. Also a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, it is rich in rare flora and fauna. This Ventoux rouge named \'Terres Sauvages\' reflects its wild, dramatic terroir and is a blend of Grenache Noir and spicy, peppery Syrah that\'s ideal with tomato-based pasta dishes or grilled meats. Yves Cheron of the \'La Famille Cheron\' largely runs his négociant operation (vinifying wine or grapes from other vineholders) under the label \'La Grand Comtadine\' (formerly Pascal Frères). Working with growers who keep yields low, harvest by hand, rigously sort bunches and ensure fermentation is temperature-controlled tanks. This AOC Ventoux red is made from vines that average 38 years old and yield around 40 litres per hectare. Grown on limestone-clay soils, its deep blue-purple robe belies intense red berry fruit and spice with a licorice finish. AOC Ventoux: Famille Cheron \'Terres Sauvages\' 2022. Yves Cheron. Rhône Wine > Vacqueyras Wine. Red Wine
