The Filliatreau family's red Saumur Château Fouquet that comes from vines just outside the Saumur Champigny appellation seems to be getting better with every vintage that we ship. It is a ripe rounded wine from pure Cabernet Franc with light minerally nuances that should be drunk within a couple of years of vintage, preferably al fresco with a plate of cheese or charcuterie!Certified as both an Organic and Vegan wine. The Filliatreaus are renowned for having modernised winemaking in the Saumur and Saumur Champigny regions producing vibrant wines with excellent fruit characteristics. Yapp Brothers have been importing Filliatreau wine since the 1970s - the first vintage shipped of this one was the hugely successful 1990. I have bought two orders after having in a Restaurant and loving it. Delicious and as Loire Reds are not everyone’s taste can assure it will please. The staff at Yapp were just as enthusiastic too

Thank you for your kind review. We will continue to fly the flag for Loire Cabernet Franc as we absolutely love its bright fruit and weight. We also feel it is excellent value for money (but keep that to yourself). If you enjoyed this, do try the other wines from Filliatreau or the wonderful wines from Taluau-Foltzenlogel from the other side of the river in Bourgueil and St-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil.
