This coin was issued in 2015 by the Isle of Man to commemorate Milner’s Tower. Milner’s Tower on Bradda Head was built in 1871 by public subscription as a memorial to the benefactor or Port Erin, William Milner, who did much to help the village fishermen and the poor. As Milner was a famous safe maker from Liverpool, the unusual shape of the Tower represents a key and a lock. The building is one of the most widely recognisable landmarks on the Isle of Man and is visible for miles across Port Erin bay. A unique design, the reverse of this 50p shows the Tower beneath the words ‘Milner’s Tower’. The obverse shows Her Majesty the Queen by engraver Ian Rank-Broadley. Due to the low population of the Island in comparison to the rest of the UK, this coin will almost certainly have a very low mintage figure. Additionally, it is not legal tender in the UK and therefore you will not find it in your change. Both of these characteristics combined make this coin particularly scarce and collectable. We have just small number of these coins available for our Collector’s. Secure yours now >>
