Thank you for your feedback. We are so glad to hear your order arrived in good timing! The smell you are referring to occurs because of the way our puzzles are manufactured. At Wentworth, our puzzles are cut using lasers which contribute to creating our intricate and unique pieces, however this does create a slight woody smell that is inherent to our puzzles. We would first advise opening the puzzle and leaving the puzzle in a well-ventilated area to allow this smell to dissipate; this usually lessens after a couple of days.
