This upright, deciduous shrub forms a dense vase-shaped bush with maturity. The spiny stems of Berberis thunbergii f. atropurpurea 'Red Rocket' are cloaked in rounded, dark burgundy leaves, which transform to a blaze of red in autumn. The clusters of small, yellow spring flowers are followed by scarlet berries which are loved by birds. Like all Japanese Barberry plants, this variety is hardy, reliable and easy to grow. A superb choice for bringing colour and interest to the back of sunny, mixed borders. Height: 200cm (78).
