-BIOGRAPHY- Abigail Watkins designs and makes her jewellery from her little workbench in Plumstead, South East London. After studying Fashion Illustration at The London College of Fashion in 1997, she took a retail job at a beautiful costume jewellery shop in The Royal Arcade, London. She met such an eclectic mix of customers, selling glittering French and Italian costume jewellery that she became hooked and decided to spend her working days playing with jewels. She went on to work at a contemporary jeweller’s in Greenwich, London, selling precious metal work by British designers such as Shaun Leane and Andrew Geoghegan. Here is where her knowledge of making jewellery began, working on commissions and repairs. Abigail takes inspiration from nature, found objects, geometric shapes, classical literature, her children’s art, everywhere! But she mainly has a particular person in mind when making something.
