As you have noted, weather conditions have impacted a number of European rivers and tours in recent years, and periods of unusually low water can affect navigation, sometimes requiring itinerary adjustments or additional coach transfers. While these circumstances are outside of our control, we fully appreciate that they can affect the overall cruise experience. We also understand your disappointment regarding the increased amount of coach travel and ships mooring alongside one another in certain ports, which can impact onboard views when docked. Thank you for your review. We are very sorry that your cruise was affected by low water levels and that the revised itinerary did not meet your expectations. As advised prior to departure, the low water conditions on the Rhine meant that the original itinerary could not operate as planned. Guests were notified of the changes in advance and were given the opportunity to decide whether they wished to continue with the holiday based on the amended programme.

We appreciate that, following an early start, you would have preferred lunch to be available on arrival. Whilst lunch is not offered on embarkation day, guests can enjoy complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits onboard and are free to explore ashore before returning for high tea later in the afternoon. We also understand your disappointment with the lavender fields. Unfortunately, the appearance and quality of the lavender can be significantly affected by seasonal and weather conditions, and the exceptionally hot and dry weather may have impacted the blooms during your visit. We are sorry to hear that the arrangements in Marseille proved challenging, particularly given your walking difficulties. We appreciate that the distance from the coach drop-off point to the check-in area was not ideal and regret any inconvenience this caused. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
