From the early 17th century, the Qing Dynasty produced exquisite forms of fine and decorative art, informed by the rich traditions of Chinese painting. Across the decorative arts, many craftsmen worked in the imperial court furnishing the palace with everything from exquisite jewellery art to traditional Chinese lacquerware and jade sculpture. Reflecting the skilled artistry of workers and master craftsmen from the Forbidden City, our Quing Lamp has been decorated with an ornate design of butterflies and flowers – a popular motif in oriental art.
