Fun ceramic lidded owl jar containing delicious British made mini choc chip biscuits. Ceramic biscuit barrels first became popular in the 1860s, inspired by the barrels used as containers on ships. Soon becoming an essential hosting item in any household, novelty designs were developed in the early 20th century such as Burlington Ware produced by John Shaw and Sons which became popular in the 1950s. Lovely chap, but the lid is a bit fiddly to open. Very cheerful colours, and a nice big size to hold a lot of your biscuits

The Owl jar is brilliant. My only qualm was when I tried to get the biscuits out. The packet broke because the biscuits were so tight in the jar.
