Perfect for music lovers: countdown the days of Advent with a delightful miniature record-player which plays 24 electronic ‘records’. Each plays an instrumental recording, mixing popular carols, classical music, songs, and traditional German Christmas music. Simply place the day’s record onto the turntable and lift the arm to hear a burst of festive music. Includes ‘Deck the Halls’, ‘The First Noel’, ‘Jingle Bells’, ‘In Dulci Jubilo’, ‘Stille Nacht’ and ‘Alle Jahre Wieder’. Each record is decorated with a nostalgic, 19th, or early 20th-century scrap motif. Patented in 1887 by German-born American inventor Emile Berliner (1851-1929), the gramophone was the first machine to use metal discs rather than cylinders to play recordings.
