Reconstituted stone garden ornament recalling the form of a 19th-century Japanese netsuke, secifically styled as a sleeping cat. Originally created as functional toggles for securing boxes or pouches to kimono sashes, netsuke gradually became miniature works of art during the Edo period (1603–1868). Made in Britain and suitable for garden display, it should be overwintered indoors to preserve its quality.
