Jaunty, large cotton handkerchiefs printed with a sporting array of polka dots. This set of 5 generous cotton handkerchiefs comes in a range of jolly colours for everyday use. This repeating pattern's name was coined in the mid-19th century and derived from the polka dance craze that swept through Europe. The term 'polka dots' first appeared in print in 1857 in Godey’s Lady’s Book, a Philadelphia-based women’s magazine although at this time the pattern was generally found on gentlemen's bowties. Cut a dash with these vintage style polka dot print handkerchiefs, boxed and ideal given as a gift.
