30 cards to celebrate the best of the British summer with daytrips, deck chairs and holidays at home, all created long before ‘staycationing’ was born. A set of five delightfully nostalgic designs present images from magazines, maps and advertising ephemera from the 1920s-50s, including imagery from the collection of the British Library. This card reproduces images from ‘Summer Holidays in the British Isles’, 1952, from a Thomas Cook magazine cover painted by A.J. Wilson (b.1924); a cover from a Hertford and St. Albans tourist map, 1931, painted by Ellis Martin (1881–1977); and 'Plimsolls and Sand Shoes', 1919, from an advertisement in 'The Footwear Organiser… Journal'. Made exclusively for Museum Selection.
