Scintillating cards with images of birds set in naturalistic landscapes. Reproducing enchanting colour woodcuts by Kyoto artist Kono Bairei (1844-95) for his eponymous work 'Bairei kacho gafu', meaning ?Bairei's flower and bird sketches?, published in 1893; now in the collection of the Rijksmuseum. Bairei was a member of the Ukiyo-e school and a master of kacho-e painting during Japan?s Meiji period. include ?Bird and Red Vine?, ?Two Sparrows?, ?Snipe?, ?Japanese Wagtail? and ?Songbird on Flowering Branch?.Made exclusively for Museum Selection.
