Graceful cards which reproduce four of a series of watercolour floral paintings created by husband and wife Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928) and Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh (1864-1933) in artistic partnership. The meticulous floral studies were a theme the artists returned to throughout their careers and as a break from architectural commissions. Includes a flowering cactus and anemone painted in 1915 while staying at the Suffolk coastal village of Walberswick; plus an earlier work, ?Butterfly Flower?, painted in 1912 at Bowling, near Glasgow, where C.R. Mackintosh worked on interiors for Dunglass Castle; and a later painting from a summer stay at Mount Louis in the South of France in 1925. The original watercolours are now in the collections of the British Museum, Sheffield Galleries and Museums Trust, and The Fleming-Wyfold Art Foundation.Made exclusively for Museum Selection.
