We are sorry that you feel your replacement bottle was unsuitably packed. But assume that it was not damaged in transit, please let us know if this was not the case. We can only apologise that your bottle was not cleaned properly and you had to clean it yourself. This very rarely happens and we will tighten our internal procedures. White specs inside the lamp are just bits of dry lava that will melt when the lamp is used. Let us know if this is not the case. Many thanks, Mathmos Customer Service

Very disappointed. I am a postman and I have seen less fragile items packaged far more suitably, 'lucky' is the word I would use to describe that the bottle was not damaged.
