Thank you for your response. It is clearly advertised that the product will not be clean and contains fine material for which the bags are overfilled to compensate. No gabion product is washed due to it's size and thus they will all have an element of fine material present.

Thank you for your review. It is not possible to have perfectly sized stones when grading on a large scale. All quarried stones are graded using a screener which is basically a giant sieve. In this case the sieve will have had 170mm square holes. Anything that will pass through the hole would be considered to be within range. For example a stone that is 170mm x 170mm x 250mm would still be able to pass through the holes in the sieve. If the stones were a perfect 100 or 170mm all around they would be cubes which would be most unattractive.

The pictures on our website have to show a true representation of what the stone will look like long term, once laid and exposed to a rain shower. If we were to show the product as it is when straight out the quarry it wouldn't be an accurate representation of what you are actually going to receive. Most gravels are washed, however this doesn't mean the product is rinsed under a tap with nice clean water and a scrubbing brush 😊 Washing is carried out with recycled water and is more for separation purposes than cleaning.
