We are very sorry for the delivery failures and the frustration caused. You paid £5 Ex VAT for Saturday delivery service, and unfortunately, DPD failed on this occasion.
Your order has been fully refunded, including the additional delivery charge. We apologise that card refunds can take several working days to appear in the recipient’s account after they have been processed.
This incident has also prompted a review of our internal returns and refund process. Ordinarily, a refund in a situation like this would be triggered once the courier confirms that a parcel is being returned to us. In this instance, although we submitted a return-to-sender request to DPD on 6 July, the request was not confirmed and further delivery attempts continued without this being brought back to our attention.
Had we been aware sooner that DPD was continuing to issue delivery notifications, we could have followed this up and resolved the matter earlier. We are now changing our process so that return-to-sender requests are actively monitored rather than relying solely on courier confirmation, helping to prevent the same situation from happening again.
