With regards costs, we are competitive and offer heavily discounted rates as it is. Cross border rates and for obvious reasons Executive seating etc can all cost more then a standard fare. However, we would love to hear from you. Let us know.

Danielle- The comments, like your website, were difficult to use-- on my cellphone. I did not want the membership-- but it got in the way of my ticket purchase and I couldn't reverse it without losing my reservations. That cost, which is a complete waste for my trip, was €19. In using the website to purchase "local" train tickets from Rapallo to Genova, I found that your site charged €5 each way, but at the station I could purchase the same ticket for €3.60. There were 4 of us traveling round trip. That was an expense of €1.40 x 8= €11.20. €30.20--? That is competitive extra charge for 4 local train tickets? I disagree. I also purchased two first class round trip Rome to Firenze. That was a convience.

Hello,

I am so sorry to hear of this.

I am unsure as to why you could not use you tickets as they do not need to be printed and are E-tickets as outlined in the email that was sent to you.

The fares can be shown on your mobile device with the PNR number. Again, this was outlined on the ticket. Was your fare From: Venezia San Lucia to Firenze Santa Maria Novella?

Thank you for your prompt response. It is much appreciated. The problem with the E-tickets is that there is no wifi available at the Venezia train station, so we were neither able to retrieve nor present the email with the PNR number. We only had the confirmation number given to us on screen after completing the purchase in our hotel. Perhaps Italia Rail could either provide its customers with wifi access at critical points, such as train stations, or require its partner rail companies to accept its on screen confirmation as well as the PRN to help prevent this issue from arising in the future.
