It is disappointing to note your plants were damaged in transit and I have relayed this information to our Carriers Parcel Force whose service standards are normally excellent. Should your plants as a result of the damage they suffered not prosper please contact us and we will arrange to provide you with replacements free of charge. I have also discussed the packaging of your order with our Despatch Team and they have been reminded to pack every order in accordance with instructions that minimise damage arising in transit. I'm disappointed to read your comments about the condition of the Portuguese Laurels and would request you e-mail me a photograph of the plants to helpdesk@hedgesdirect.co.uk. On receipt I'll discuss the matter with our Horticultural Director and then revert to you. If the plants are clearly not going to prosper then I'll arrange to replace them either with root balls (only available between October 2013 and April 2014) or with plants in pots (the tallest available are currently in the range 1 - 1.2 metres). Thank you for your feedback. In respect of the height of the plants then I would assure you the description 'current batch are taller' has been and is always removed after we have despatched any such stock items. However situations can arise, albeit infrequently, where customers ordering with that information then have to be supplied with plants within the normal height range. From your description of the appearance of the plants the box in which they were despatched must clearly have been damaged in transit by our carriers Parcel Force. Although we have no financial redress against Parcel Force we do provide them with feedback on any issues that arise, as part of us working in partnership to maintain the service standards we have agreed with them. Should any of the plants not prosper as a result of them being damaged in transit, we will either issue an appropriate refund to you or replace the plant free of charge.
