Thank you for your feedback. Due to the cold start to this year, that has been the second coldest in half a century the growing season is about four weeks behind. Therefore you may yet find the Hawthorn will prosper. I would suggest you scratch back with your finger nail a small amount of bark on a number of plants and if these are healthy this should reveal a green and moist surface. If the surface is dry and brittle the plants may have died, this can be due to a number of reasons including the watering regime followed. Please do keep us advised if the plants do not prosper and we can arrange to replace these in the next bare root season (October 2013 - April 2014), subject to you making a contribution towards the cost of doing so.
