We’re very happy with our purchase. The kettle looks great. Often you want to hide appliances in the cupboard but the Icona kettle has a lovely design and choice of colours.
Every week I’m having to clean the kettle, it has even started to make the loudest crackling noise. Awful 😣

Hard water contains high levels of minerals like calcium and magnesium, which can form a scale build up on the inside of the kettle, as the water heats, tiny bubbles form on the heating element and then rise and cool, causing them to collapse. The collapsing bubbles, especially when the scale is breaking off, can create a popping or crackling sound.
Also the noise level is determined by the power rating, the body material and the shape. A 3KW kettle in stainless steel will always have a noisier operation than a low power plastic type.

Initial look of kettle - good. However after using for a few months you realise that when pouring the water from the kettle the water goes into the lid so when you place the kettle on the stand again...
