Further to our subequent conversation when we discussed the reason for your one star feedback on this hotel. We note this was based on the events following the unfortunate cancellation of your original sailing by Condor Ferries due to adverse weather and as such, you had not stayed at this hotel at the time of leaving your review.. We are very sorry that weather prevented you travelling and it was necessary to postpone your break. My colleague, Vicky, had lengthy discussions with you at the time of the cancellation trying to assist with alternative options and thank you for acknowledging her efficiency in dealing with the matter. As discussed, the hotel was not able to offer a refund as they were unable to resell the room. Unfortunately weather is an “an act of God” and with situations like this, it would be normal for clients to claim on their travel insurance. As with many hotels we work with, the Ambassadeur management made a gesture of goodwill and agreed to switch your booking to another date, which is what you eventually agreed to do. The original September date was the same price as the October date, hence there was no refund due. We very much hope the weather conditions were much kinder on your October dates and that you enjoyed your break.
