Cast Iron Romany Camp Fire Swing Skillet

<div>Our genuine original swing skillet Romany gypsy frying pans are made from solid cast iron with a bowed wrought iron handle. They are pre-seasoned with vegetable oil and are completely ready to use to cook from. They have been reproduced directly from the original 150 year old Romany gypsy skillets and are finished with every original detail including spout and extra wide pourer opening and ring top on the handle. The entire skillet is made from solid cast iron and the handle is blacksmith forged from wrought iron. The skillet is professionally finished but kept in the original &quot;Rustic&quot; style to maintain it's authenticity. They are pre-seasoned and can be used to cook in, but as with all cast iron cookware they do require a level of general maintenance to continue the seasoning process.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div><span style="font-weight: bold;"> DIRECTIONS OF USE:</span> To continue to get the best out of your swing skillet, after use wash with warm water, do not use washing up liquid as it will remove the oil layer. Dry very well and then rub the entire surface with vegetable cooking oil. When the skillet is new it is also preferable to then heat the skillet in an oven or over an open fire for about 30 mins, to get the cooking oil to &quot;season&quot; the surface of the skillet. As the skillet heats up the pores in the iron's surface open up and adsorb the cooking oil. When it cools the oil becomes trapped building up a layer of seasoning and protecting the skillet from rusting. Over time and with good care the seasoning will build up to be a superb natural non-stick protective layer for your skillet.
