Hi Nadine I'm sorry you had some trouble with your delivery. The courier driver could not access your property as it was a very narrow road, which we did verify on Google Street View. While a large van may be able to access this, any HGV would have issues with access, and further issues when trying to leave the road which was a dead end. As wood flooring is a large and bulky delivery, it requires specialist HGV transport. The goods are delivered on a sealed pallet, by a specialist bulky goods haulier, which they, unfortunately, cannot open or unpack for you. Because of this, we email every single customer reminding them that it is a kerbside palletised delivery and to ask if there are any delivery restrictions at your address for large vehicles. We also highlight this in our delivery tab on every product, again on our delivery information page, at the end of check out and a fourth time in our T&C's. I think it is very fair to say that we make a considerable effort before and after ordering to inform all of our customers about the restrictions when receiving the delivery of a heavy goods. Despite our 4 points of information on delivery and a further email reminder, we were never informed that there were any restrictions. This meant that the pallet either had to be left with you (approximately 150m) from your home or returned on a 120 mile round trip to the haulers depot and loaded onto a smaller specialist vehicle to bring it to your door. While redelivering small packages is easy for any courier, redelivering large bulky goods (250kg) load is considerably more difficult and expensive. The hauliers charge for this was £110, which we offered to reduce (at our cost ) for you. If we were informed about the restrictions, the goods could have been loaded onto a smaller vehicle for you avoid any hassle. I am genuinely sorry if you feel that we did not do enough on this occasion, but i do hope that you were pleased with the flooring that you purchased.
