Many thanks for your feedback, we're pleased to hear it went so well overall. Regarding the niggles, unfortunately it's quite standard to charge for parking in city locations in Spain and Portugal, we do try to point this out in the hotel descriptions and in your initial quote but we are sorry if this wasn't clear. Regarding restaurants, whilst we don't restrict our selection to only include hotels with restaurants, we always ensure that there is a good selection within walking distance where the hotel doesn't offer the service - we hope you weren't overly inconvenienced.

Hi Andy. Basically all the hotels were good. In particular the hotels in Leon, Lugo and Santiago de Compostela were very good. Good locations, staff and breakfast all good.
Directions to Hotel Altair (in Santiago) were confusing. It would have been easier to turn right into Rue dos Loureiros (by the Carmelitas Descalzas) which takes you straight to hotel. We finished up driving into a restricted area by mistake, hopefully I wont get fined!
In Leon we only saw 1 purple sign to San Isidoro and that was in the outskirts of the town. Also the entrance to the square was not obvious as there were signs saying 'authorized vehicles only' no mention of access for hotel guests.
In Oviedo we found the Calle Mendizabal but there was a no entry sign so had to drive , park up and walk. Actually it was OK to turn in as a hotel guest but I didn't see that until we had driven past!
Apart from that everything was fine.

Thanks David, it's quite possible they've changed the one-way systems or local signposting in León and Santiago - we'll check that out as soon as possible (a colleague is visiting León this week) - so many thanks for pointing those out. We've added a note to the Oviedo instruction to point out that it's OK to enter Calle Mendizabal. Being in the old-town does complicate the arrival at some of these hotels but we hope you agree that it's worth it!
